The Accentra is state-of-the-art in every way, and given Harman’s long experience with high performance pellet stoves, this is saying a lot. From the moment you lift the door handle you know this is a stove that is built to a quality standard far above any other cast iron pellet stove on the market. The castings are smoothly detailed and the understated appearance accents a wide range of décor styles that will enhance a living space much like a piece of fine furniture.
If great looks was all that mattered in choosing a pellet stove, the story would end here. But the fact is the beauty of this stove really starts on the inside. First time pellet stove buyers often make purchases based on looks, experienced stove owners look for the features that make life easier when using the stove day in and day out throughout the heating season. The Harman Accentra combines so many user friendly features you’ll appreciate including:
Super sized ash pan - The large ash pan greatly reduces the number of times you will need to empty the ashes during a season. Some pellet stoves have small toaster oven sized ash pans, while the Accentras ash pan will let you burn almost a ton of pellets before you have to empty it.
Clean glass for great fire-viewing - The Accentra’s large window stays remarkably clean so that you can enjoy the fire for much longer periods of time without having to clean the glass. The Accentra will easily go 2 to 4 weeks between cleanings while other cast iron stoves need to be cleaned at least once per week!
Whisper quiet operation – All pellet stoves create sound due to the need for motors and fans – but the Accentra has been carefully engineered to provide very quiet operation. Convection air passageways have been enlarged and designed with smooth aerodynamics to greatly reduce air flow noise. Fans and motors are rubber mounted, the engine compartment is insulated, leveling screws with rubber pads eliminate vibration between the stove and the hearth pad and a two stage convection fan gives you the capability to cut sound even further. There is no other stove on the market that delivers so much heat with so little sound.
Dependable Auto-ignition – The Accentra has a more reliable ignition system than is commonly used in other pellet stoves. Special heat transfer disks on the outside of the Harman igniter transfer heat away from the igniter’s core and increase durability. In addition, all igniter equipped Harman pellet stoves will operate with or without the igniter working. Some pellet stoves on the market will not work if the igniter fails.
Temperature control that’s like cruise control on a car – Ordinary pellet stoves use old fashioned thermostats that are either on or off, the result is over shooting or undershooting of the desired temperature. The Harman Accentra has a remarkably precise temperature control system built right in so you won’t need a thermostat. The Accentra constantly monitors room temperatures and makes ongoing changes to the pellet feed rate and combustion air so you get very even heating. It’s like cruise control on your car. Your home is kept warm and comfortable without the rapid fluctuations in temperatures common to other pellet stoves.
The Accentra will turn itself off when you don’t need any heat and turn itself back on when you do, but the control system is far more precise than other “automatic” stoves on the market. The Accentra is so advanced it will keep the room temperature just where you want it regardless of the quality of pellets you burn or the frequency you clean your stove. With most other brands of pellet stoves there is a big drop in heat output if the stove is not cleaned regularly.
Less maintenance and easy cleaning feature – How often a stove requires cleaning and how easy the stove is to clean are very important considerations when buying a pellet stove. The Accentra gets very high marks in both areas. While some brands of pellet stoves require cleaning every couple of weeks the Accentra lets you burn up to a ton of pellets without servicing. For most homeowners this means vacuuming the stove only 3 or 4 times per heating season! The combustion blower and flue outlet area are readily accessible and the entire stove, including the flue pipe can be cleaned in less than half an hour.
Outstanding efficiency so you burn less pellets – The Accentra delivers high overall efficiencies due to the special cast iron heat exchanger. The heat exchanger is accordion shaped so that the maximum amount of heat from the flue gases get transferred out into the room. Other cast iron pellet stoves simply don’t have enough heat transfer area so their overall efficiencies are far less than the Accentra. The stove is rated at 40,000 BTU’s/ per hour and will typically heat 1450 sq. ft. of space in the Northeast.
Tinted hopper lid lets you determine when to refuel – This is a great feature. Just look into the hopper and you know right away if more pellets are needed. Adjustable leveling pads at each corner let you install the Accentra on uneven hearths. The levelers have rubber pads to eliminate vibration and further reduce sound.
The Accentra with an optional cast iron hearth pad lets you install the stove directly on wood or carpeted floors. You can install an Accentra where other pellet stoves can’t go - All other pellet stoves that we know of require that the flue outlet be 4 ft. from a window or door. The Accentra is listed for 18” from windows and doors when the outside air kit is installed. The outside air kit also boosts efficiency and allows you to “direct vent” using a single straight pellet vent pipe.
Burn any grade of pellets – Harman stoves let you burn any grade of pellets with ease! Harman’s unique under-fire feed system will burn high ash industrial grade pellets as reliably as premium grade fuels – so you can be confident buying any brand of pellets available in the Northeast! No special conversion kits are required.
